To share or not to share, that seems to be the question…
In the age of over-sharing, has the time not come for us not to share?
Especially for a family and wedding photographer sharing my work and a glimpse into other people’s days is part of the job. One that I love.
But the last few days I have been thinking about this a lot – after a potential client asked me not to post any of their photos online, should they book me. In the end they didn’t book me, but still I can’t get ‘a handle on it’.
Personally I do not like to share, so I can totally understand this. But from a business standpoint, especially being a photographer, it is essential to getting bookings. Or is it?
That is a big reason I have a website, to blog and to share.
But maybe soon this will change…
HI Maree! Just saw this post and I actually found it really interesting as I’m also going through a “weird” patch about sharing online and wondering how much is it ok to share, what should we be sharing and what we shouldn’t. And it is quite an interesting thing this of having our real lives and the online one, if that makes sense… I’ll try to put down my ideas a bit better and send them your way 😉 Happy long-worker’s-day weekend!!!
